The proportions of raspberries, strawberries, blackberries and blackcurrants may vary slightly and sometimes even includes redcurrants when they are available. The fruit we start with is always whole and ripe and just ready to be blended with natural sugar, water and a little citric acid to make this deep ruby red cordial that’s one of our best sellers.
Not too sweet and with a hint of tannin and acidity, Very Berry lends itself perfectly to non-alcoholic drinks, hot or cold. Try it drizzled into a glass of dry white wine or better still, a flute of prosecco, where it slowly sinks through the bubbles for a version of Kir Royale.
Drizzle it neat over vanilla ice cream and trim with a sprig of mint and curl of dark chocolate, or into Greek-style yoghurts for the easiest of desserts.
Or for stunning ice cubes, dilute 1:1 with water – it’s too sweet to form perfectly-shaped ice cubes if made straight from the bottle – then freeze in an ice cube tray and when ready, just drop into your waiting glass and watch the colours drift and merge.
